Lecturer

Igor Margan graduated in History and Sociology from the University of Zadar. He decided to focus on game development and apply his formal education to storytelling and design. He initiated his career by pursuing education at the Machine Game Dev Academy, where he gained additional specific knowledge required for game development. Throughout most of his career, he has worked as a freelancer. For the past four years, he has collaborated with Algebra University College as an external associate and assistant in the graduate study of Computer Game Development, the first of its kind in Croatia. He co-created, and teaches courses Computer Game Planning, Narrative Design, and Scenario Creation. The courses are also conducted in English due to a significant number of foreign students.

From the academic year 2022/2023, Igor serves as both a mentor and professor for four student teams in the “Innovative Project” course. Furthermore, over the last two and a half years, he has been guiding student teams as a mentor in design, narrative, and production of games during their studies. One of these teams secured third place in 2019 at Game Jam in Rijeka and in 2021 in Creative Cup Croatia with the game “ReMind.”

Igor is the Head of Professional Bachelor Study Programme in Game Development.
