Algebra LAB's work and achievements got another international recognition. The Big Data Value Association (known as DAIRO – Data, AI and Robotics) has awarded us with a SILVER i-Space label and, as the only Croatian Digital Innovation Hub; we have been included in the European network of i-Space data innovation centers. The network has more than 230 members from 17 European countries and, along with various industries, is involved with various research and user organizations. Algebra LAB is the first Croatian member of this exclusive network.

All members work tirelessly to promote the use of data in business and research. To be part of this network means that we, along with other partners, will continue to work on creating ideas for the use of data science and artificial intelligence as a fundamental transformation tool in the 21st century. The Silver i-Space designation also allows us to participate in theEUHubs4Data project, on which we will have more to report about further on.

The i-Space designations are being awarded since 2016. The i-Space network provides data infrastructure, along with knowledge and skills for companies, researchers and innovators, which allows for the quick and secure testing of new applications based on large data sets. Since i-Spaces are linked to the European data ecosystem, they are a natural starting point for linking cross-border initiatives. Selected organizations go through a process in which reviewers assess the dimensions of their infrastructure and technology, services provided, projects and project applications, and the impact on the ecosystem, business strategy and their business sustainability.

The promotion of new members of i-Spaces will be officially held at the European Big Data Value Forum on 30.11.2021 at 12:00 pm in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
