On 29 October 2021, the consortium meeting of the MELIA Observatory project from INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme took place. The aim of the meeting was to monitor the activities carried out in the project. Due to the current COVID -19 constraints, we were not able to hold a live meeting, but we successfully discussed project activities in the online environment. During the meeting, we discussed the successful completion of mapping the media literacy in the Danube Region.

As part of this task, we created a media landscape repository and we have developed a handbook on media literacy and active citizenship in the Danube Region. Project partners continue their work on the development of Policy guidelines and an action plan to strengthen media literacy and activity among young people. We also discuted the progress of creating the multi-purposed web platform. This platform will provide easy-to-use tools enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI) to help users identify different types of media messages. Thus, the platform will serve as a cross-country focal point for improving the media literacy and creating the learning network. In addition, we discussed the upcoming project activities and the further implementation of the project. In conclusion, results of the MELIA Observatory project could definitely contribute to the improvement of media literacy in the Danube Region.
