Welcome to NuGamers, a project that dives deep into the experiences of women determined to reshape the worlds of tech, gaming, and engineering. Through a series of focus groups, we’ve uncovered the stories of these trailblazing women, each with unique journeys, challenges, and aspirations. And now, we’re excited to share our findings through our newly released document featuring six rich, relatable personas.

The NuGamers Project is also proud to unveil the Personas in Gaming Fact Sheet, a groundbreaking resource that highlights the real-life experiences of diverse individuals in the gaming world. These personas, representing high school students, university students, VET teachers, and industry professionals, were developed from focus groups and interviews we conducted with women and individuals across gaming and STEM fields. Through these insights, we bring to life the voices and experiences of those navigating their careers, shedding light on their unique challenges, motivations, and successes.

Mia’s story reflects the excitement and challenges of a young woman stepping into the tech world, eager to show that the future of gaming is for everyone.

Meet Bree:

Bree’s journey illustrates the creative passion that fuels many young women, while also highlighting the struggle with self-doubt and imposter syndrome that often accompanies them.

Meet Clarissa:

“I’m here to change the gaming industry, one game at a time.”

Clarissa’s persona showcases the drive and ambition it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur in the gaming world, all while navigating the complexities of leading a company in a male-dominated industry.

Beyond the Struggles: Building Inclusive Solutions

While the stories of these women illustrate the personal struggles they face, NuGamers is also about solutions. How can we create more inclusive workplaces and communities where women in tech and gaming thrive? What steps can we take to make these industries more welcoming and supportive?
