Bob Jacobs is Adjunct Professor of Operations Management at the Villanova School of Business, Villanova University and Emeritus Professor of Kelley School of Business, Indiana University – Bloomington (1982-2014). He has degrees in Industrial Engineering, Computer and Information Science, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Operations Management.
He is the author of over 50 research articles on topics, which include ERP system design, the design of manufacturing systems, and scheduling.
He is co-author of three widely used Operations Management textbooks: Operations and Supply Management (15th edition 2017), Operations and Supply Management: The Core (4nd edition 2016), and Manufacturing Planning and Control Systems for Supply Chain Management (6th edition 2010). These books are published by McGraw-Hill/Irwin in multiple languages.
He is also co-author of The Supply Chain Professional – Concepts and Analytics (2015), published by Hercher Publishing; and co-author of Strategic Use of ERP (2006), published by Stanford Press.
Professor Jacobs is a fellow and past president of the Decision Sciences Institute.
