Ema Menđušić Škugor

Divjak, Topić, Bahtijarević & Krka Law Firm

Ema Menđušić Škugor deals with topics of corporate law, regulatory issues, public procurement, intellectual property rights, and protection of privacy rights and technologies.

As a corporate lawyer and advisor to large corporate clients, she has an extremely good knowledge of a wide range of legal topics in the field of commercial law and company law. In-depth knowledge of the legal framework and internal corporate processes enables her to advise clients effectively; both in everyday business situations and in complex transactions and project-type tasks. Her knowledge of European Union law additionally directed her, from the very beginning of her career, towards advising clients operating in highly regulated industries.

Public procurement is another area of ​​her expertise, so she often advises local and foreign corporate clients on this topic. By working in the Committee for Public Procurement at the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia, which she helped and led as vice president during two mandates, she actively participates in the creation of applicable business policies and regulations.

Martin Hren

Šavorić & Partners

Martin is a member of the banking and finance department at the law firm Šavorić & Partners. In his daily work, Martin participates in drafting legal opinions for international clients, giving them legal advice in the fields of finance, technology and competition law. He is a regular speaker at BUG conferences for FinTech and LegalTech, as well as at lectures for students.

He joined Šavorić & Partners after completing the LLM program for international business law at Tilburg University, focusing on alternative ways of raising capital such as public token offerings and FinTech solutions, as well as their regulation. He also participated in the public debate of the European Commission, and contributed with his Master Thesis for the new European regulatory framework for crypto assets (Proposal for a Regulation on Markets in Crypto-assets – MiCA). Before going to the Netherlands, Martin spent a semester at KU Leuven in Belgium as part of the Erasmus+ program, where his interest in deeper research and advocacy for the topic of law and technology emerged. During his education, Martin was awarded several Dean’s Awards for academic achievement, as well as the Best Graduate Student Award.

Marko Porobija

Managing Partner at Porobija & Špoljarić

Marko is a general manager at Porobija & Špoljarić, law firm where he started to work immediately after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb. During his work as a lawyer, he specialized in matters related to investment, mergers and acquisitions, as well as legal support for clients in the technology sector.

His life’s mission is to make legal services easily accessible by introducing the latest technologies in the legal services sector. He is a passionate promoter of legal technology in Croatia, either through social networks, as a speaker at various conferences and gatherings or by applying technological solutions in his business. He wrote number of articles on the topic of legal technology and the future of legal services for the leading Croatian business and technology magazines such as Lider and Mreža. He is also the ambassador of ELTA (European Legal Technology Association) for Croatia. He is a member of ELTA, the European association for the promotion of LegalTech practices, tools and knowledge.

Mladen Vukmir

International expert in intangible assets and intellectual property, master of legal sciences and winner of the prestigious International Trademark Association President’s Award awarded by the International Trademark Association for exceptional, innovative achievements in the field of intellectual property protection and development.

After studying law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, Mladen Vukmir completed postgraduate studies with a master’s degree in intellectual property law at the Franklin Pierce Law Center, in the USA. He worked on technology transfers at the specialized agency of the United Nations UNIDO in Vienna, and founded the law firm Vukmir and Associates in 1991.

He is a member of numerous international organizations such as AIPPI, IBA, ITechLaw, GALA, INTA, LES and UIA. He publishes professional works and articles, and is a frequent lecturer on topics of intellectual property. He regularly teaches as a guest lecturer at graduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb. President of ECTA, the European association for the protection and promotion of intellectual property rights.

Ema Menđušić Škugor

Ema Menđušić Škugor bavi se temama korporativnog prava, regulatornim pitanjima, javnom nabavom, pravom intelektualnog vlasništva, te zaštitom prava privatnosti i tehnologija.

Kao korporativna odvjetnica i savjetnica velikih korporativnih klijenata izuzetno dobro poznaje široki spektar pravnih tema iz područja trgovačkog prava i prava društava. Dubinsko poznavanje pravnog okvira i internih korporativnih procesa omogućuje joj učinkovito savjetovanje klijenata; kako u svakodnevnim poslovnim situacijama, tako i pri složenim transakcijama i zadacima projektnog tipa. Njeno poznavanje prava Europske unije dodatno ju je, od samih početaka karijere, usmjerilo ka savjetovanju klijenata koji posluju u zahtjevno reguliranim industrijama.

Javna nabava još je jedno od područja njene ekspertize, pa stoga o ovoj temi učestalo savjetuje lokalne i inozemne korporativne klijente. Radom u Odboru za javnu nabavu pri Američkoj gospodarskoj komori u Hrvatskoj, a kojeg je tijekom dvaju mandata pomogla i voditi kao dopredsjednica, aktivno sudjeluje u stvaranju primjenjivih poslovnih politika i propisa.

Martin je član odjela za bankarstvo i financije u odvjetničkom društvu Šavorić & Partneri. U svakodnevnom radu, Martin sudjeluje u izradi pravnih mišljenja za međunarodne klijente, dajući im pravne savjete iz područja financija, tehnologije i prava tržišnog natjecanja. Redoviti je govornik na BUG-ovim konferencijama za FinTech i LegalTech kao i na predavanjima za studente.

Odvjetničkom društvu Šavorić & Partneri pridružio se nakon završetka LLM programa za međunarodno poslovno pravo na Tilburg University, fokusirajući se na alternativne načine prikupljanja kapitala kao što su javne ponude tokena i FinTech rješenja, te na njihovu regulaciju. Sudjelovao je i u javnoj raspravi Europske komisije, te dao doprinos svojim Master Thesisom za novi europski regulatorni okvir kripto imovine (Proposal for a Regulation on Markets in Crypto-assets – MiCA). Cijenjeni svjetski stručnjak za nematerijalnu imovinu i intelektualno vlasništvo, magistar pravnih znanosti i dobitnik prestižne nagrade International Trademark Association President’s Award koju dodjeljuje International Trademark Association za izuzetna, inovativna postignuća na području zaštite i razvoja intelektualnog vlasništva.  

Mladen Vukmir je nakon studija prava na Pravnom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu završio poslijediplomski studij s titulom magistra prava intelektualnog vlasništva na Franklin Pierce Law Center, u SAD-u. Radio je na transferima tehnologija u specijaliziranoj agenciji Ujedinjenih naroda UNIDO u Beču, a odvjetničko društvo Vukmir i suradnici utemeljio je 1991.

Član je brojnih međunarodnih organizacija kao što su AIPPI, IBA, ITechLaw, GALA, INTA, LES i UIA. Objavljuje stručne radove i članke, a čest je i predavač o temama s područja intelektualnog vlasništva. Redovito predaje kao gostujući predavač na diplomskom i poslijediplomskom studiju na Pravnom Fakultetu u Zagrebu. Predsjednik ECTA-e, krovne europske udruge za zaštitu i promociju prava intelektualnog vlasništva.

Marko Porobija

Managing Partner – Porobija & Špoljarić

Započeo karijeru u odvjetničkom uredu Porobija & Špoljarić, odmah po završetku Pravnog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, a 2018. godine postao predsjednik uprave tog odvjetničkog društva. Tijekom svog rada kao odvjetnik specijalizirao se za pitanja vezana uz ulaganja, spajanja i preuzimanja, kao i za pravnu podršku klijentima u tehnološkom sektoru.

Životna mu je misija učiniti pravne usluge lako dostupnima uvođenjem najnovijih tehnologija u sektor pravnih usluga. Strastveni je promotor pravne tehnologije u Hrvatskoj, bilo putem društvenih mreža, kao govornik na raznim konferencijama i okupljanjima ili primjenom tehnoloških rješenja u suradnji s LegalSifterom u svom poslovanju. Nekoliko članaka koje je napisao na temu pravne tehnologije i budućnosti pravnih usluga objavljeno je u vodećim hrvatskim poslovnim i tehnološkim časopisima Lider i Mreža. Također, ambasador je ELTA-e (European Legal Technology Association) za Hrvatsku. Član je ELTA, europske udruge za promociju LegalTech praksi, alata i znanja.
