ALGEBRA UNIVERSITY

Algebra University is the flagship of largest private educational organization in Republic of Croatia and the region, Algebra group, present today in more than 20 cities across Croatia.

Founded in 1998, Algebra has more than 150 full-time employees and more than 600 associated experts as well as higher educational faculties employed also in the industry. Annually, Algebra educates around 15.000 students through various seminars and short educational programs in adult education, additionally  3.000 children and young students in Digital Academy and State Matura exam preparation  programs, while in higher education Algebra has more than 30% growth in new students each year.

The quality of Algebra has been recognized by their students as well as by all major software manufacturers.

Algebra is located in historic CUC campus in the heart of Croatian capital Zagreb, while adult education and training programs are conducted also in: Osijek, Pula, Rijeka, Zadar, Split, Varaždin and Dubrovnik, as well as in more than ten other smaller cities.

Algebra currently offers almost one thousand shorter educational programs (up to 2 weeks), around 50 accredited longer adult educational programs and 13 accredited higher educational study programs/specializations.

Many of the programs are authorized by global software and equipment manufacturers such as: Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Red Hat, VMware, Adobe, Autodesk, EC-Council, (ISC)2 and others. Algebra is an academic and/or educational partner of all stated vendors, for most of them the only one in Croatia. Most of the educational programs for the acquisition of new qualifications, as well as all study programs in higher education, are accredited by the Ministry of Science and Education and are thus linked to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB

University of Zagreb (1669) is the oldest and biggest university in South-Eastern Europe. As a comprehensive public Central European university, University of Zagreb offers education and research and in all scientific fields (arts, biomedicine, biotechnology, engineering, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences) and a broad spectrum of courses at all study levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. With 31 Faculties, 3 Art Academies and the University Centre for Croatian Studies it is the flagship educational institution in the country, a place where more than 8000 teachers and 70.000 students develop knowledge and acquire skills.

The University excels not only in teaching, but also in research, contributing with over 50 percent to the annual research output in Croatia and 80 percent of scientific productivity of all Croatian universities. The central strategic issue of the future development of the University of Zagreb is for it to be a research oriented institution with teaching of high quality.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) is the largest technical faculty and the leading educational as well as research-and-development institution in the fields of electrical engineering and computing in Croatia. With more than 60 years of independent activity, FER is one of the most important scientific institutions in Croatia, and, according to the European Commission data, FER is at the top in Croatia in terms of attracting EU projects. Out of 600 employees, 30% are hired at our own expense on national and international research projects. Determined to remain a respectable research institution, FER undertakes scientific research at the highest levels of international standing. The Faculty has developed valuable international cooperation with many research institutions around the world, either directly or through inter-university cooperation. The number of international projects in the last two years makes the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing one of the most internationally active institutions in Croatia.

The Faculty is organized in 12 departments which represent the focal points of education, research and development in various fields, including Department of Applied Computing.
