Proof of English language proficiency for master studies

Students will meet the English language requirement by passing one of the accepted standardized tests with a sufficient score. In the case a student does not have an English language certificate or did not achieve a sufficient score, the student’s English proficiency shall be determined and confirmed during a mandatory motivational call. This is only applicable to the Algebra Bernays University degree option.

Students will also meet the English language requirement by passing one of the following standardized tests:

  • IELTS Academic minimum band score 6.5 (no element lower than 6.0)
  • TOEFL and TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 92 overall with 23 in Writing and no lower than 20 in each other skill will meet English language requirements
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE C1): 176 overall with 169 in Writing and no subtest lower than 160
  • Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE): 176 overall with 169 in Writing and no subtest lower than 160
  • LanguageCert Academic from ‘LanguageCert International ESOL’ (taken at a test centre or online): B2 Communicator 70, with a minimum of 70 in all skills including speaking
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 62 overall with min 59 in Writing and no element lower than 51 will meet English language requirements
  • Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III: successful completion with a merit in all components will meet English language requirements

Any of these certificates must not be older than 2 years.

English as a medium of instruction: students who studied their bachelor’s degree in English language and who obtain a letter from their university stating English as MOI during the whole duration, will have it reviewed in order to be accepted as proof of English proficiency.
