A group of second- and third-year students from the Market Communication (Design and 3D Design) study programmes at Algebra Bernays University had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) held at Hochschule der Medien (HdM) in Stuttgart, Germany. This International Creative Design Challenge, hosted in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche, brought together young talents from across Europe for five days of intensive innovation, teamwork, and cross-cultural exchange.
Accompanied by professors Siniša Bogdanović and Mario Perić, our team of students—Petra Oniško, Jana Marta Vedo, Anika Vilotić, Eva Nikpaljević-Ćerezin, Mateo Krile, Cvita Mia Vukušić, Natalia Tarasova, Ivana Gršić, Dora Makjanović, and Lucija Pavlović—tackled real-world design challenges, collaborated in multidisciplinary teams, and immersed themselves in Stuttgart’s vibrant creative atmosphere.
Throughout the program, students engaged in hands-on workshops and design sprints, developing future-forward concepts for Studio F.A. Porsche. Working in diverse, international teams, they combined different skill sets—from 3D modeling to visual communication—to propose innovative, sustainable solutions. The experience culminated in a pitch presentation to a jury of Porsche representatives and HdM faculty, where students demonstrated not only their creative ideas but also the ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly, and collaborate effectively.
“The adrenaline, teamwork, and the opportunity to contribute to the future of mobility made it rewarding by itself,” was one of the student comments.
In addition to the academic component, the students explored Stuttgart’s renowned automotive scene with visits to the Porsche Brand Store, the Porsche Museum, and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. These visits offered a deeper understanding of German design heritage and sparked inspiration that fueled their creative process throughout the week.
The Erasmus+ experience wasn’t just about competition—it was about connection. Students built lasting friendships, exchanged cultural perspectives, and gained insights from their peers and mentors. Many reflected on the unexpected richness of collaboration, where professional growth went hand in hand with personal development.
“This was more than just a competition—it was an unforgettable journey filled with learning, laughter, and inspiration,” said one student.
Whether working on design concepts, sharing meals with fellow participants, or soaking in the fast-paced energy of Stuttgart, the group returned with fresh ideas, stronger portfolios, and a broadened vision of their future careers.
When asked if they would recommend this Erasmus+ program to their colleagues, our students stated:
“For anyone looking to expand their horizons, gain real-world experience, and immerse themselves in some of the world’s most iconic cities, I highly recommend exploring Erasmus opportunities because they create the perfect environment to grow as thinkers and innovators.”
Looking back, I can confidently say that this program was an incredible opportunity for both professional and personal growth. It provided a space to develop new skills, connect with people from different backgrounds, and immerse ourselves in a new culture. For anyone considering participating, I would highly recommend it—the experience of collaborating in an international environment, facing challenges together, and stepping outside your comfort zone is truly invaluable.”
“I wholeheartedly recommend this Erasmus program to fellow students. It has been one of the most rewarding opportunities during my studies, and I can’t wait to see where these newfound connections and skills will take me next!”
The Erasmus+ BIP in Stuttgart showcased the power of international collaboration, creative problem-solving, and cultural immersion. For our students, it was a transformative experience that reaffirmed the value of mobility programs in higher education.
