As part of the Erasmus+ mobility programme, our colleaguee Rebeka Dajak from International Office and Ružica Pejić, from Marketing Communications Department, had the honour of representing Algebra Bernays University at the 19th International Week, held at Universidad Europeia, IADE, IPAM Lisboa, and IPAM Porto.
During a week filled with engaging lectures, workshops, and networking, they visited three campuses in Lisbon and Porto and had the opportunity to meet our Digital Marketing and Design students who are currently participating in Erasmus+ Student Mobility. Listening to their stories, insights, and how they adjusted to a new academic and cultural setting was very insightful. Colleagues took photos and recorded video testimonials for the university’s social media, showcasing their experiences to inspire and encourage future students to embark on a similar adventure.

Collaboration with Colleagues and Best Practice Exchange
One of the most valuable aspects of this mobility programme was the opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from various higher education institutions around the world, including: Shanghai Polytechnic University (Kina), Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvija), Faculty of Design (Slovenija), Haaga Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finska), Jönköping University (Švedska), EFAP (Francuska), UPC (Peru), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Nizozemska), Sup de Pub (Francuska), Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, Stenden University of Applied Sciences.
Ružica was especially happy to reconnect with representatives from universities that she had previously collaborated with, exchange updates, discuss joint projects, and strengthen professional ties. Meanwhile, Rebeka enjoyed engaging in discussions with International Office colleagues, where they shared best practice and talked about challenges in encouraging student mobility and integrating them into student community activities.

Portugal – A Favourite Erasmus Destination for Croatian Students
Portugal is a very popular choice for Erasmus+ Student Mobility among Croatian students, and after our colleagues experienced the atmosphere of Lisbon and Porto, we can clearly see why. The vibrant culture, multicultural environment, excellent food, rich entertainment and tourism offerings, and the youthful vibe of these two cities make Portugal an ideal place for study and life.
During their stay, they got to experience a glimpse of this energy – from walks along the Douro River and the narrow streets of Alfama to enjoying the famous pastel de nata pastries and the lively evening atmosphere in the city’s bustling areas.
Promoting English thought bachelor programmes and international mobility
During their visit, our colleagues Rebeka and Ružica promoted mobility opportunities for Portuguese students, particularly in the Digital Marketing and Design programmes. Additionally, they presented International Summer School in Zagreb and Šibenik as a unique opportunity for international experience through both academic and cultural experience.
An Experience That Enriches and Inspires
Participating in the International Week allowed them to:
✔ Exchange best practice in marketing and international cooperation.
✔ Strengthen collaborations with partners.
✔ Meet new colleagues and expand our professional network.
✔ Gain new skills and insights into organizing and promoting Erasmus+ programmes.
✔ Better understand the challenges and opportunities of international mobility.
This experience reaffirmed the importance of networking and knowledge exchange in higher education. Our colleagues return home motivated, with new ideas and plans for future projects, and we hope our students will be inspired to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme!
