In the inspiring setting of the Lauba Gallery in Zagreb, over the course of two ceremonial days, Algebra Bernays University and University College marked the end of the academic journey for more than five hundred graduating students.

In a festive atmosphere, on May 22, 2025, students of the University College were officially promoted, followed by the promotion of Algebra Bernays University students on May 23.

University College Graduation – May 22

The first evening gathered bachelor’s and master’s graduates in the fields of communication and tourism – including communication management, tourism destination management and marketing, public relations, and experience management in tourism.

Speeches were delivered by Mario Petrović, President of the Governing Board, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Damir Jugo, Dean of the University College.

A particularly emotional moment came when students Lada Rora and Ana Matić requested the promotion on behalf of their fellow graduates. All graduates took an oath of loyalty to knowledge, their profession, and their community. The most successful students of the generation were specially honored with the Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude distinctions. A valedictory speech on behalf of the graduates was given by Ivan Miličević.

University Graduation – May 23

The following day, Algebra Bernays University held its official graduation ceremony. In an equally dignified program, students of undergraduate and graduate professional studies in computing, digital marketing, multimedia, and market communications were promoted.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Mislav Balković, Rector; Vice-Rectors Dr. Nataša Trojak and Dr. Ana Tecilazić; as well as Prof. Dr. Damir Jugo, President of the University Governing Board.

Student Mladen Plećaš requested the promotion on behalf of his fellow graduates. The best students were awarded Rector’s and Senate honors, with student Ria Walla giving a speech on behalf of the awardees. The ceremony concluded with the traditional academic anthem Gaudeamus Igitur and the symbolic throwing of caps, marking the end of their student journey.

Both ceremonies went beyond mere formality. In addition to celebrating knowledge and hard work, they marked an academic year that saw the unification of two successful and well-respected educational institutions in Croatia – Algebra University and Edward Bernays University College.

Next year, they will celebrate this momentous day together as a unified and the largest private university in Croatia.
