Algebra University hosted a high-level delegation from Malaysia, a country in Southeast Asia that, in addition to being known for its unique natural beauty, has more than 30 years of experience in the internationalization of higher education with more than 100 public and private higher education institutions.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is one of the first public universities established in Malaysia with 26 faculties. USM is a leading Malaysian research university whose innovation activities are internationally recognized. It currently has more than 35,000 students. During the meeting, Ms. Syaheerah Lebai Lutfi, Deputy Director of Global Engagement at USM shared the university’s strategic goals, which include the development of new partnerships with European universities.

The Dean of Algebra University, Mislav Balković, welcomed the initiative and spoke about Algebra’s path to internationalization and increasing the number of full-time international students in Bachelor and Master study programmes. Prof. Balković added that local and international students who choose to pursue their higher education at Algebra have access to the most innovative and internationally competitive knowledge and skills that prepare them for the global labor market. He emphasized that the quality of the study programmes offered at Algebra has been recognized by national and international authorities for quality assessment in higher education.

Ambassador Onon expressed his support for establishing a closer cooperation in attracting Malaysian students to full-time study programmes and short study abroad study programmes at Algebra University.
