mr.art. Martina Zelenikaartist is an ultra-contemporary interdisciplinary artist who uses innovative and alchemic approach for the creation of her artwork. She combines traditional techniques and state-of-the-art digital technologies. The main motif and theme of her artistic work is freedom in the post-humanism era. Although she prefers traditional drawing, she also uses sonification of different kinds of data and images. Martina is the author of highly produced artwork created by using time-based media. In her collaboration with Ruđer Bošković Institute, she worked on obtaining x-ray analyses of minerals with the purpose of creating artwork with sound. She developed a unique technique of meditative drawing called Meta Signal Sonar System (2017) which remains present in further development of her artwork. In addition to her professional artistic career, she worked in the national education system as a teacher of art and graphic design. Numerous creative workshops for children and adults were held under her leadership in collaboration with culture centres. She gave private lessons in drawing and creative techniques as a preparation for entry exams. Her independent work includes graphic design and visual communication for various clients with the emphasis on culture, art, ecology and education. She was a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists' Association from 2012 to 2020. Martina was born in 1978 in Kutina where she attended primary school and graduated in 1997 from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. She received a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, in 2001, under the tutelage of professor Ante Kuduz, Department of Printmaking Arts. She continued with her education at Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb and passed the course in pedagogical and psychological training in 2002. She received her master's degree in 2006 in the field of Video and New Media with the thesis “Media Art in Process: Virtual Station” from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana. Martina has received several grants, numerous prestigious awards and acknowledgments. She has participated in international symposiums and conferences dedicated to digital art and science. Her solo exhibitions have taken place in Croatia and abroad, and she has participated in new media festivals and international exhibitions in South Korea, Belgium, Spain, Slovenia, Serbia, Latvia, Hungary, Denmark, Germany, the UK, etc. The artist is a member of Archive of Digital Art “ADA – database of virtual art” in Austria, and “SALOON Berlin – network for women in Berlin's art scene” during her longer stay in Berlin in 2020. Martina is a creative generalist and expert with the knowledge from various types of creative sectors. Her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm she gladly passes on to students at Algebra University College where she works as a lecturer at the Department of Digital Art.
