Josip Lopatič was born on April 30, 1977 in Pula. He finished the science and mathematics high school in Labin. At the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Science in Zagreb, he graduated in mathematics (2001), majoring in applied mathematics with the topic Mathematical models in lubrication theory. At the same faculty, he acquired a masters degree in mathematics (2009) with the topic Modeling of an underground waste disposal site. Academic year 2004/05 he spent his training at the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris 6 in France. The subject of his training was Analyze Numérique et Equation aux dérivées partielles. For twenty years he has been teaching in higher education institutions, where he taught computer and mathematics courses. He taught at nine different higher education institutions, including the Faculty of Science Department of Mathematics University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing University of Zagreb, and the University of Algebra. Since May 2022, he is a permanent court expert for finances.
