Module title:
Visual design 2 - DTP
Module overview:
The objective of this module is to enable students to learn to:
• use fundamental principles of vector graphics with basic design elements to use in visual communications design field to produce valid creative idea
• create and design simple and more advanced document following fundamental layout rules
This module teaches students to create valid vector and formatting elements in regard basic visual compositions. The module forms vital core of the programme as it combines previous visual design, typography modules and fundamental design rules; form, structure and composition. This module is semi project based, meaning students will acquire vector tool and use acquired knowledge in basic design ideas in visual design communications.
It is important for students to take this module in order to gain confidence in creative processes and vector and formatting management with an ability to develop valid design solution. Students will gain abilities to explore basic shapes, forms, vectors and text layouts in order to develop basic design layouts. During lectures students will be familiarized with the basics of setting up a page layout for different publications, inserting textual and graphic elements and the basic processing of the elements. Using advanced functions (pathing, clipping mask).
