Lecturers and associates:
Vedran Dakić, Senior Lecturer
Matej Bašić, Teaching assistant
Zlatan Morić, Senior Lecturer
Module overview:
The objective of this module is to enable students to learn:
• advanced knowledges about various methods to achieve high availability and fault tolerance
• how to configure high availability and fault tolerance for various infrastructure services
Students learn the capability of Microsoft operating systems, services and applications to achieve better availability. Availability is very important for companies as it's a good way to make sure that services work, even if some individual hardware or software components fail.
It is important for students to take this module because high availability of necessary services is essential so that employees of any given company can work in various failure scenarios.
For graduate level, this knowledge and understanding is essential as enterprises need system engineers with experience configuring various types of high availability for in-house infrastructure. This module exposes students to the idea of availability by design, as it's something that's deeply rooted in IT-supported businesses of the 21st century.
