Module title:

Video production

Lecturers and associates:

Robert Krivec, Senior Lecturer

Module overview:

This module introduces students to advanced elements of video production and editing with the goal of conveying a message and story through a flexible and focused workflow. The module continues on previously acquired knowledge and students create their own dedicated films using equipment according to the needs of the project. When making dedicated films, students choose what kind of project they want to work on between an educational, music or promotional film.

The module is taught through the integration of theory, knowledge and individual practical learning and problem solving. The evaluation of the module is based on the analysis and critical review of the examples given during homework, as well as on practical homework and on individual student projects. The individual student project is based on video montage within different genres and the final result. This module is part of the media core of the study, it actively guides students through video editing and finalization of the media form.

Students will learn about:
• Apply stage techniques.
• Choice of cameras according to the needs of the project.
• Lens differences and camera movements.
• Applications of studio lighting and film lighting.
• Application of green screen.
• Montage of video formats according to the given norms.
• Mixing multiple cameras in the studio.
• Distributing audio-video content.
