Module title:


Creation of sound, sound effects and narration


Module overview:


This module gives students the opportunity to explore and learn to collect, design, create, edit, select, and mix sound effects. Using sound libraries, field recording, Foley techniques as well as software tools, students will learn to apply sound effects to add an extra dimension to a visual work.

As part of the module, students will use hardware and software tools to create atmosphere, shape the sound environment, advanced audio, and video editing to create an adequate atmosphere, as well as recording and applying narration to interactively deliver the background story of the video.

This module is part of a group of modules related to media as part of the studies, final in the field of sound, which defines the use of techniques for connecting audio-visual systems, the use of equipment in audio-visual systems, as well as the process of processing a sound recording for the purpose of preparing a final audio-visual work, in which the sound and sound effects are an essential part of the overall experience of the work.

Students will learn about:
• Processes of collecting, creating, and selecting sound effects for an audio-visual work
• Using Foley techniques to add an extra dimension to an audio-visual work
• Using narration to add context to an audio-visual work
• Final processing of audio and video signals in the process of creating the final audio-visual work

This course is taught through the integration of theory, knowledge and experience as well as individual practical learning and problem solving. The evaluation of the module is based on the analysis and critical review of the given examples and practical tasks with an individual approach.
