Module title:
Introduction to video production
Module overview:
The aim of the module is to familiarise students with the basics of visual storytelling through video media, from communication to atmosphere, within film language and aesthetics, and commercial video. The module is taught through the integration of theory, knowledge and individual practical learning and problem solving.
Module evaluation is based on analysis and critical review of the given examples during the exam, on individual student projects and homework with an individual approach.
The individual student project is based on an individual practical approach and requires students to create and write scripts, storyboards and raw footage ready for editing. This module is part of the media core of the study, it actively takes students through the key elements of video production from concept to frame planning and actual filming.
Students will learn:
• about film language and basic filmmaking approaches.

• create the basic prerequisites for film and video production.
• about video aesthetics and structure.
• recording basics.
• about light and dramaturgical structure.
• basics of film editing and colour correction of the project.
