Research and development of multimedia content

Module overview:


This module introduces students to the basics of multimedia research, analysis, and critical thinking.

The module teaches through the integration of theory, focusing on individual hands-on learning, critical thinking and problem solving. Module verification is based on analysis and critical review of past and present research and real-life examples that provide correlation with student projects and future development. The individual student project is based on individual research and a given proposal.

Knowledge of the meaning of multimedia, the transfer of information through different media and types of interactivities and narrative, make the module crucial as a support for subsequent modules.

Students will learn about:
• creation and reinterpretation of information through the media and media channels
• multimedia theories, concepts, integration, extension and practice
• multimedia components - understanding the basics, growth and future changes
• multimedia expectations - interaction and interactivity, expectations and innovation
• research dilemma - finding the right topic / problem
• the meaning of relevant, interesting, instructive, original, feasible and motivating
• learning for research, conceptualization, methodologies and data collection
• writing the paper - introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion.
