Module overview:


This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding and practical skills in managing server operating systems and network administration based on Microsoft technologies. The objective is to equip students with the knowledge to effectively operate and maintain server environments, emphasizing the significance of Active Directory, group policies, and network configurations. The course aims to develop proficiency in server management, from basic server capabilities to advanced networking functionalities, ensuring students are prepared to handle real-world IT infrastructure challenges.
In this course, students will learn:
the basic capabilities of server operating systems, such as managing permissions, understanding disk and partition types, and utilizing command line commands.
the fundamentals of Active Directory, including how to manage permissions, understand domains, forests, groups, users, computers, and roles.
how to administer environments using group policies and the settings that can be implemented through these policies.
the implementation and configuration of IPv4 and IPv6 networks in server operating systems, including both fixed and dynamic address assignments like DNS and DHCP.
the usage and implementation of the Network Address Management System (IPAM) for efficient network management.
the evaluation of technologies for remote access and connecting to remote locations, understanding their applications and benefits.
advanced networking capabilities of Microsoft-based operating systems, including how to implement and optimize these features for enhanced functionality.
