Module title:

Implementing complex network environments

Lecturers and associates:

Module overview:

The course aims to acquaint students with the mechanisms for managing the redistribution of routes in a computer network, management, monitoring, and maintenance of a computer network, routing in IPv6 computer networks, and basic telecom technologies BGP and MPLS. The focus of the course is on the adequate interpretation of the requirements that are placed before the students and the selection of suitable technologies that will be used when designing the technical solution, as well as the implementation and testing of the technical solution itself.
Through the stated objectives of the course, students will acquire the basic practical and theoretical skills necessary for the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of some advanced technological solutions in computer networks.
In this module students will learn:
Design a technical solution based on IPv4 and IPv6 protocol for medium and large computer networks
Appropriately use technologies to manipulate the redistribution of routing information in a computer network such as access control lists, prefix lists, route maps, and distribution lists
Appropriately use technologies for management, monitoring, and maintenance of a computer network such as NTP, SNMP, DHCP, NAT, SPAN, RSPAN, NetFlow, syslog, FTP, TFTP, configuration backup and restore, and network monitoring applications.
Appropriately use technologies for connecting an IPv6 computer networks such as routing protocols RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, static routes, static and automatic IPv6 tunnels
Appropriately use technologies for connecting remote networks via a telecom network infrastructure such as BGP and MPLS protocols
