Module title:
Wireless networks
Lecturers and associates:
Module overview:
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the basic principles of wireless communication and to teach them how to implement wireless technologies for expanding wired local area networks (LANs), short and long-range wireless technologies, their protection mechanisms and to perform common attacks on wireless computer networks. The course will deal not only with standard WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) technologies such as WiFi, but also with other forms of wireless networks such as mobile networks and short-range technologies such as Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication) and LoRa.
In this module students will learn:
perform a site analysis before implementing a wireless network.
measure and calculate wireless network signal strength.
implement a functional wireless local computer network.
integrate wireless and wired computer networks in different environments.
Implement wireless communication using short and long range technologies
Implement protection mechanisms for wireless communication networks
Prepare and execute a cyber attack on wireless communication networks
