Management of creative processes

Module overview:
This course introduces students to the theories and practices of managing creative processes, knowledge of which is necessary for the successful implementation of visual communication projects. Students will master the tools and techniques needed to realize a design idea and effectively manage the collaborative process with clients and members of their own team. In addition to the theoretical concepts that will be covered in the lectures, the course is also based on project tasks designed in such a way that the students develop the competencies of methodical planning, effective implementation and management of different phases of the development cycle of creative projects.
The course expands students´ knowledge and skills in developing design solutions that meet clients´ marketing goals, providing a tactical emphasis on coordinating and directing creative resources to achieve stated goals. Students will develop the team management skills and processes necessary to turn a creative concept into finished designed work, regardless of the type of project. The course includes supervision of the creative process, resource planning and budgeting, and methods of supervision and control.
Students will learn about:
the role and meaning of creativity and the management of creative processes,
designing the project task and determining the necessary resources and budget,
dynamics of teamwork and motivation of team members,
team management methods and techniques,
methods for generating ideas and problem solutions,
ways of evaluating ideas and proposals for solving problems,
budgeting and financial sustainability of the project,
the role of communication techniques in the context of developing relationships with clients,
theories and techniques of client relationship management.
