Sound editing


Module overview:


This module introduces students to the basics of sound creation, processing, and transformation, all the way to sound design, mixing and mastering.

This module is part of a group of media-related modules within the study, the second in order in sound, which defines postproduction and ultimately leads to the final sound as a media component in video, multimedia, interactive media, game environments, applications and the like. The skills learned in this module will significantly contribute to other future modules related to media content.

Students will learn about:
• Audio editing workflow
• Single-channel and multi-channel sound editing
• Audio data formats and their uses in playback and editing
• Manipulation and post-production
• Improvement and reduction of noise
• Mixing and mastering
• Creation and extrapolation of sound effects.

This module is taught through the integration of theory, knowledge and experience as well as individual practical learning and problem solving. The evaluation of the module is based on the analysis and critical review of the given examples and practical tasks with an individual approach.
