Module title:
Video effects and motion graphics
Module overview:
This module introduces students to video effects and motion graphics while blending the new knowledge with an existing video footage and using the workflow demands of visual effects to plan future video creation.
Students will learn about:
• Concepts, methods and best practices through which students will explore visual effects in video production.
• Tools like compositing, layering, integrating and blending content, rotoscoping, camera tracking
• Tools like character animation, green screen, particles, simulations, graphic implementation and many more.
• Idea creation, recording, editing and appling tools for image processing, but also visual effects.
• Creating a multipurpose animation, effects and communication in a clear manner.
• Style and film grammar while remaining within the expectation of the genre and set goals.
The module is taught through integration of theory, know-how and individual practical learning and problem solving. The module assessment is based on individual student projects, and homework with individual approach. Individual student project is based on an individual practical approach while animating and applying visual effects and motion graphics.
This module is a part of the media core of the study, actively taking students through visual effects and motion graphics. Skills learnt in this module will contribute significantly to other subsequent media core modules.
