Business English


Module overview:


The objective of this module is to enable students to:
- use correct terminology in business conversations
- use correct grammar in business conversations

English is the only foreign language that students learn at Algebra University College. This module teaches students about the correct use of English terminology and grammar in different business situations. Students also use this knowledge and understanding for all other modules of this study programme that use English terminology and language skills.

It is important for students to take this module in order to develop their English language skills necessary in the field of digital marketing. English is a digital language and the knowledge students acquire in this module will contribute to the overall skillset for their future employment as digital marketing specialists. This module will expose students to a particular experience when dealing with business situations, both in written and oral form.
In this module students will learn to:
use basic business as well as digital marketing terminology on topics like Management, Work and Motivation, Industries and Companies, Company structure, Managing across cultures, Recruitment, Quality, Products and Brands, Distribution and Promotion, Advertising, Market structure and competition, etc.
use simple and complex grammatical structures: present, past, perfect and future verb tenses, modal verbs, relative and conditional clauses, direct and indirect speech, passive and active structures.
write a summary of a professional text in English.
research and orally present a topic using the language of the profession.
