The goals of this course are to enable students to:
acquiring basic knowledge about contractual relations
acquiring basic knowledge about company law
gaining insight into specific legal regulations that deal with artificial intelligence, personal data protection, financial market regulation and consumer protection
The Legal Aspects of Business course introduces students to the field of law, giving them an insight into this scientific discipline from the perspective of business economics, with an emphasis on legislation that regulates digital aspects of business. Modern business practice indicates that for a successful career in the digital economy, in addition to the necessary professional knowledge in economics, management, accounting, finance, etc., it is increasingly important to have some general knowledge in other scientific disciplines, including law.
Students should attend this course in order to gain the necessary knowledge and insights into the legal aspects of business and the legal frameworks that regulate certain specific areas of business and relations with consumers and technologies. The course trains students in such a way as to develop the competencies necessary for more efficient business management in the context of the modern economy.
Students will learn about:
the functioning of the legal system, the separation of powers and the sources of law
commercial contract law
the most important forms of contracts used in different areas of business
different forms of companies
suitability of different legal forms in specific situations of starting a business
structures of different companies
economic interest associations
status changes in companies
legislation in the domain of digital products and services
basic laws and by-laws in the field of financial services
regulations dealing with the protection of consumers and personal data
