Sound editing
Module overview:
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of sound creation, processing, and transformation, leading to sound design, mixing, and mastering.
This course is taught through the integration of theory, knowledge, and experience, as well as individual practical learning and problem-solving. The assessment of the course is based on the analysis and critical review of given examples and practical assignments with an individual approach.
This course is part of a group of courses related to media studies, the second in the field of sound, defining post-production and ultimately leading to the final sound as a media component in video, multimedia, interactive media, gaming environments, applications, and similar.
Skills acquired in this course will significantly contribute to other future courses related to media content and multimedia production.
In this course students will learn:
workflow for sound editing
single-channel and multichannel sound editing
audio data formats and their use in playback and editing
manipulation and post-production
noise reduction and enhancement
mixing and mastering
creating and extrapolating sound effects.
