Creation of sound, sound effects and narration

Module overview:
This course provides students with the opportunity to explore and learn the collection, design, creation, editing, selection, and mixing of sound effects. Through the use of sound libraries, field recording, Foley techniques, as well as software tools, students will learn the application of sound effects to add an additional dimension to visual works.
This subject is taught through the integration of theory, knowledge, and experience, as well as individual practical learning and problem-solving. Course assessment is based on the analysis and critical review of given examples and practical assignments with an individual approach.
In this course, students will use hardware and software tools to create ambiance, shape the sound environment, perform advanced editing of audio and video recordings to create an appropriate atmosphere, as well as record and apply narration for the interactive delivery of the background story of video content.
This course is part of a group of courses related to media within the study program, concluding in the field of sound, defining the use of techniques for combining audiovisual systems, the use of equipment in audiovisual systems, as well as the sound recording processing process to prepare the final audiovisual work, in which sound and sound effects are an essential part of the overall experience of the work.
In this course students will learn:
processes of collecting, creating, and selecting sound effects for audiovisual works
using foley techniques to add an additional dimension to audiovisual works
using narration to add context to audiovisual works
final processing of audio and video signals in the creation of the final audiovisual work
