Module title:
Integration of 3D elements in multimedia production
Lecturers and associates:
Module overview:
The objective of this course is to enable students to learn to:
basics of 3d systems, elements and modes
transfer of information into a static and moving image and in real time
rendering process and realistic view
integration and postproduction in audio-video and multimedia content.
This course provides students with a thorough understanding and practical skills needed to integrate 3D models and effects into different types of video content and multimedia projects. The course is aimed at introducing students to key aspects of the 3D system, techniques of transferring information into image or display in real time, as well as rendering and post-production processes. This is a symbiotic integration.
The course will use examples and case studies but will also include course topics in the fields of digital arts, multimedia, film production and audio-video content production, in order to provide students with practical examples, competencies and contextualize theory. The aim is to provide students with comprehensive skills and knowledge necessary for the successful integration of 3D models and effects into different types of multimedia projects.
In this course students will learn:
getting acquainted with techniques and tools for 3D models and effects,
learning about the processes of creating a realistic look in 3D space,
techniques of displaying 3D models and animations in real time,
understanding the rendering process and various render elements,
post-production techniques, including work with layers and element correction,
adding visual effects,
methods of integrating 3D models and effects in video production,
combining 3D elements with audio-video content,
apply the learned skills in different contexts,
analyse examples from the industry,
development of critical thinking in the application of 3D technologies.
