Module overview:


The objective of this course is to enable students to learn to:
manage digital content protection
protect digital content in an appropriate way
understand the breadth and limitations of digital content protection

The aim of the course is to train students to understand, analyse and apply different methods and strategies for the protection of digital content in the modern digital environment. The course focuses on providing knowledge on the legal aspects of intellectual property protection, including copyright, trademarks and patents, and their application in the protection of digital products and brands.

Students will learn how to identify and select the appropriate platforms for the distribution of digital content, while integrating adequate security measures. Also, the course covers topics related to visual protection, encryption, geofencing, digital rights management (DRM) and licensing, providing students with the skills needed to effectively manage and protect digital content from unauthorized access, copying and distribution.

Through the coursework, students will also develop the ability to think critically and argue in the context of choosing the most appropriate contractual protection for different types of digital content, taking into account specific needs and objectives. The aim is to ensure that students gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and solutions associated with digital content protection in a fast-growing and dynamic digital world.
In this course students will learn:
select the appropriate platforms for the distribution and protection of digital content
analyse and recommend the protection of digital products and brands on the domestic and foreign markets through copyrights, trademarks and patents.
apply and evaluate the visual protections of digital content in accordance with its type and purpose.
Understand and apply different methods of digital content protection, including visual protection, encryption, geofencing, DRM and licenses.
select and argue the most appropriate contractual protections for different types of digital content.
