Module overview:
This module is one of the vital components of the animation vertical in the program. This module uses 3D assets (models, sculptures, and rigs) students created on other modules in the program. The module follows a structure divided into units. Some of these units will be covered simultaneously during class, they can be intertwined and adapted individually to each student in regard to their starting point, their understanding at the beginning of the module, and their progress during the module. This module relates to the program as a vital core for understanding 3D modelling in creative industries.
It is important for students to take this module because the acquisition of basic concepts of body mechanics helps students get a solid foundation in character animation. This module is critical for students that aim to be animators in their future careers focusing on knowledge and skills that are vital in the field. The knowledge and skills presented in this module are providing more specialized expertise in the field of animation. They are however also important and can be applied in the process of character creation and conceptualization (where certain needs for animation need to be met).
