Module overview:
This module introduces students to the work in scientific study. This includes working with mentor on specified project which must be agreed and defined by the student and mentor. The working method of the module will also teach the students to independently seek information, to plan and complete projects in computer science area, to communicate professional issues, and to read and understand research papers. The main goals of the module are:
Recognize, define, and execute a research project in computer science area.
Apply a project-oriented work process.
Describe and apply terminology, methods, and results from the computer science area.
Plan and execute a smaller practical project in computer science area.
The module does require previous programming experience and limited knowledge in selected area of research. The module assessment is project based with few milestones during the semester.
In this module students will learn:
About research methodologies.
How to describe and apply terminology, methods, and results from the respective area.
