Module overview:
The objectives of the course are:
clarify the difference between the concepts of traditional and behavioral economics
explain how behavioral economics explains human behavior through the prism of irrationality and the limitations he is faced with.
Students will learn and critically evaluate the fundamental constructs on which behavioral economics is built, such as motivation, cognition , perception, emotions, personality, etc. Furthermore, the course will focus on the process of decision-making and choice in different economic contexts, on the influence of behavioral economics in to the process of organizational behavior, to neuroeconomics and to the relationship and influence of public and state institutions and decisions on individual behavior and decision-making. Furthermore, there will be a special emphasis in the field of behavioral finance. Finally, students will engage in contemporary research and knowledge in the field of behavioral economics, which will equip them for independent development of knowledge in this rapidly developing field.
Students will learn about:
principles of behavioral economics
cognitive ability, social interaction, moral motivation and emotional reactions of man in the context of economy
economic outcomes of consumer behavior
the influence of behavioral economics factors on organizational decisions
public policies and how they affect individual behavior
principles of neuroeconomics
behavioral finance
