Sustainable development design
Module overview:
The module sets the basic principles of sustainable design and how to utilizing a sustainable design philosophy to encourage decisions at each stage of the design process.
The module forms the vital part of the education program as it teaches students how to design to reduce negative impacts on the environment and the health of the occupants. Students will be able to use a sustainable approach and sustainable tools in the design process. This module is semi-project-based, meaning students will acquire theoretical knowledge as well practical projects with insight into the creative industry.
Students need to take this module to gain confidence with basic objectives of sustainability, learn about green design, circular economy, recycling and upcycling in the design process, sustainable product design, development of sustainable materials, and waste management. Through the practical part of the course students will set the foundation of a sustainable development design project.
