Module title:
Hard-surface modelling
Module overview:
The objective of this module is to enable students to:
• continue building upon the 3D modelling knowledge and skills of students further developing the students understanding of model topology, 3D modelling methods, and approaches
• perfecting skills in modelling for games, AR, VR, or other optimized environments
This module is one of the vital components of the 3D modelling vertical in the programme. This module produces 3D assets to be used in other modules in the program (Body mechanics, Rigging for animation, Texturing, etc.) The module follows a structure divided into units. Some of these units will be covered simultaneously during class, they can be intertwined and adapted individually to each student in regard to their starting point, their understanding at the beginning of the module, and their progress during the module. This module relates to the program meas a vital core for understanding 3D modelling in creative industries.
This module is important for students for furthering their knowledge and skills of hard surface modelling. This module is vital for students that aim to perfect their skills in modelling for games, AR, VR, or other optimized environments. The knowledge and skills presented in this module are providing more specialized expertise in the field of 3D modelling. They are however also important and often need to be used as a basis or enhancement in preparation for animation, the process of character creation, and conceptualization.
