Module overview:
The objective of this module is to enable students to learn the:
• user interface and the environment of the current industry standard digital painting program
• knowledge and skills needed to produce finalized and presentable artwork
Practice the application of already acquired drawing and painting knowledge, knowledge of composition, space, light, and colour, drawing a figure and other motifs, solving various art problems in the digital medium. This module teaches specific methodologies for speed painting, matte painting, photo bashing, etc., and how to incorporate them into ones workflow. This module is optional to further enhance students to acquire digital painting skills. This module relates to the program as a optional core for understanding 3D modelling in creative industries.
The module gives a strong foundation in compositing renders of 3D assets, creating digital illustrations, and producing finished digital artwork. The module offers critical knowledge and skills needed to produce finalized, presentable artwork (for instance as a part of a portfolio). This module contributes to the overall development of the students artistic skills and knowledge and is an essential component for the contemporary artist due to the prevalent need for art to be in the digital medium. The knowledge and skills presented in this module are a part of the core skill set, a professional needs in todays computer graphics industry.
