Opći cilj istraživačke grupe je proučavanje razvoja digitalne ekonomije koja prolazi promjene uvjetovane razvojem digitalnih tehnologija te proučavanje ponašanja gospodarskih subjekata korištenjem znanstvenih metoda.
Tijekom godina, istraživanja na kojima je radila ova grupa koristila su se za informiranje, potporu i evaluaciju kreiranja politika u područjima digitalnih ekosustava, među ostalima, e-trgovine, digitalnog poduzetništva i digitalnih sustava plaćanja. Grupa je posvećena unapređenju akademskog znanja i industrijskoj primjeni širih tematskih područja strategije digitalnog marketinga, gospodarske analitike i tehnologije. Grupa ima za cilj olakšati vodeća nacionalna i međunarodna istraživanja u znanstvenom i industrijskom području digitalnog marketinga, rješavajući potrebe poslovanja i društva u tematskim područjima e-leadershipa, bihevioralne ekonomije, digitalnog oglašavanja i društvenih medija, mobilnog marketinga, platformskih i cloud usluga, upravljanja web podacima i inovativne digitalne tehnologije.
Grupa pruža inkluzivno i tržištu-orijentirano okruženje za razvoj istraživanja, potičući interdisciplinarne i multidisciplinarne pristupe kako bi se postigao maksimalni učinak u primjenama u stvarnom svijetu.
