Ines Vlahović, Lecturer

Ines Vlahović is a graduate professor of physics and computer science. She completed her university studies in 2008 and received her doctorate in 2014 in the field of natural sciences, field of physics. She directed her professional work towards the development and application of computer algorithms for the research and analysis of DNA sequences of the genome, especially in the area of the centromere for the identification of higher-order repeats as part of the projects of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Croatian Science Foundation. She also devoted part of her research to the development and application of computer algorithms for use in primary and secondary education in order to promote critical and computational thinking in teaching, i.e. the promotion of the STEM field in education. In addition to dozens of published scientific and professional papers, she regularly participates in national and international scientific and professional conferences. She participates in the creation of a strategic document of the Republic of Croatia related to applied genomics as well as the work of the Committee for Bioinformatics and Biological Physics of HAZU. She is a member of the Croatian Biophysical Society.
