DIVERSE Alliance Unites European Universities in Collaborative Meeting
On January 16th and 17th 2024, Algebra University hosted in its campus a meeting of the DIVERSE alliance of European universities, consisting of a total of 12 higher education institutions from 11 European countries. Algebra University’s partners in the development of the European University Alliance project include the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa from Portugal, Fundacion Universidad Europea del Atlantico from Spain, Griffith College from Ireland, Windesheim University of Applied Sciences from the Netherlands, PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts from Belgium, Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences and Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm from Germany, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences from Finland, SMK University of Applied Sciences from Lithuania, George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology from Romania and Istanbul Beykent University from Turkey.
During the meeting, the partners of the DIVERSE alliance of European universities discussed the intensification of collaboration in the field of higher education, research and innovation aimed at contributing to economic development and European competitiveness on the global stage, as well as the improvement of society at the regional, national and European levels. The concept around which the partner universities are developing collaboration is known as venture science – a multidisciplinary approach in which scientific research activities are directed towards finding concrete scientific and technological solutions to the problems of contemporary society. The challenges for which Algebra University and the gathered partner institutions will develop solutions within their long-term collaboration primarily concern sustainable economic growth through circular economy, lifelong learning and personal and social well-being.
One of the important goals of the DIVERSE alliance of European universities is to promote the mobility of students and staff between partner higher education institutions, especially through innovative forms of collaboration such as blended intensive programmes (BIP) within the Erasmus+ programme and collaborative online international learning (COIL). The next joint meeting was agreed to take place during the international mobility week in Santander, Spain.
