Guest lecturer dr. Jan Pidanič from the University of Pardubice

In the framework of Erasmus+ programme, our guest lecturer dr. Jan Pidanič from the University of Pardubice in Czech Republic, delivered a particularly relevant lecture entitled "Parallel Programming Techniques in Matlab/OCTAVE" at Algebra University College in July. The lecturer discussed general principles of parallel programming techniques independent on the programming language. The covered topics of lectures were, among others, importance of the optimization process, methodology of code optimization, srofiling, debugging, time measurement of code and Practical examples of vectorisation in Octave/Matlab. Since the lecture took place during Algebra International Summer School, our international students also had the chance to attend the lecture.
