The research group studies the engineering principles, methods, infrastructures and tools for distributed and mobile software systems, which are often large and complex.

The areas of research that the group is focusing on include: designing realistic goals for such systems, the quality of services they provide and system limitations; precise specification of the structure and system behaviour, as well as system development according to predefined specification, activities required to develop and adopt quality management systems in system development, the evolution of such systems over time and through the advancements of the technologies on which the system components are based.

It also deals with processes, methods and tools for developing software-intensive solutions in an economical and appropriate way.
