Marijo Volarević

Marijo Volarević was born on September 13, 1972 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He received his Master of Science degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb and possesses extensive international work experience in various management positions.

He has published a number of scientific papers in journals and conference proceedings with international peer review and often participates in conferences with topics from the field of digital transformation, improvement of processes, risk management, quality, information security, and competitive analysis.

He began his career as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, after which he was employed with the Ministry of Defense. Since 1999, he worked at PLIVA where he started at the Department for Quality Assurance, after which he transferred to IT. He organized and participated in many national and international IT projects and in 2006, he moved to the United States where he worked at the position of Global IT Director, DMS, for Barr International Services and remained there until mid-2009.

After his return, he transferred to the private company Comminus where he soon became CEO, moving deeper into the area of data management and business and competitive intelligence and taking the position of the member of the Management Board responsible for solutions and services of the Slovenian INFOTEHNA Group LLC, which develops business systems and implements them in different continents.
Since the beginning of 2013, he is the general manager of the e-Company of Croatian Telecom (HT), the department in charge of the company’s digital transformation.
