Our Dean represented Croatian higher education on 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and presented Algebra’s governance approach as good practice case in supporting UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
During 7th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC7) in Bucharest, Romania this week (11th to 15th of May), our Dean assistant professor Mislav Balkovic presented Algebra University College case within workshop “UN Sustainable Development Goas as Core Pillars of University Governance.” The event brought together more than 150 university leaders, experts and policy makers, along with 51 student leaders from the 51 ASEM partner countries.
During this three day conference and workshop, rectors of Asian and European universities discussed and developed ARC7 Rectors’ Policy Recommendations. The document was presented at the 7th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM ME7) to the ministers of science and education of ASEM countries and was included as an Annex of the Chairs’ Conclusions. We are happy that several Ministers recognised in their speeches the value of engaging students and rectors in the dialogue process and support to Sustainable Development Goals set in 2015 by United Nations.
This high level conference was organized by numerous organizations, attendance was by invitation only and our dean was only representative of Croatian higher educational institutions.
