Mladen Fernežir - Algebra University College

Mladen Fernežir, mag. educ. math. et phys. is a Data Scientist with many years of professional experience in research and development of products based on Deep Learning technology. He is working on research and development of models based on the latest scientific accomplishments in the fields of Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing. The models he developed are currently in production on multiple online marketplaces. Some examples are automatic ad category recognition from image and text, and recommendation of visually similar ads. He took part in many international conferences on Machine Learning and Computer Vision and presented posters, with one of them awarded as the best. He is one of the authors of the patent application related to visual similarity. He is involved in applying Deep Learning to many different problems: from detecting socially inappropriate discourse on social media to improving weather prediction by using generative adversarial networks. Before his career in the field of Deep Learning, he taught mathematics and physics as a high school teacher.
