Tihana Banko has master’s degree in English Language and Literature and Art History. She is also an experienced translator and certified court interpreter for the English language with more than 20 years of teaching and translation experience. She completed a double-major integrated scientific study at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb in 2002. She started teaching English in foreign language schools in Croatia and continued her professional career in an international environment. She was a lecturer at the Department of Liberal Arts of the American College of the Middle East in Kuwait and the main instructor of English Language for Academic Studies and Speech Communication undergraduate courses for electrical engineering students. After returning to Croatia, she continues to deal with the internationalization of education and cooperates with national and foreign higher education institutions through consultations and participation in the creation of strategies and action plans for international student recruitment, as well as through teaching and translation work. At Algebra University, Tihana is the main lecturer of English for Information Technology, English for the Media, and Croatian Language and Culture for international students. In addition to several published translations, scientific and professional papers, she is a regular speaker at national and international scientific and professional conferences.
