ICT tools in project management
Lecturers and associates
The objectives of this module is to enable students to learnto :
• plan and manage IT projects, programmes and portfolios via probability techniques and project risk management
• prepare for the Project Management certifications
in this optional module students learn: how to apply ICT tools for planning, tracking and controlling of projects, programs and portfolios in the chaotic business environment.
Students also learn: project risk identification and assessment, determining financial project reserves of the project budget, and the link between uncertainty and risk management with company strategy.
The module is taught in the final semester of these study programmes.
Students who choose this module will broaden their knowledge of project management acquired in the fourth semester. They will develop competencies to prepare for industry standard certifications such as IPMA, PMI and PM2. Project based teamwork gives students the possibility to practice real work situations and use knowledge from other modules to challenge other teams.

Minimal learning outcomes
- Design a project portfolio structure.
- Identify project risks by using at least one method.
- Design and evaluate a qualitative risk and opportunities analysis, and recommend a complex project response plan.
- Design and establish a simple project risk qualitative analysis.
- Plan project activities with the PERT Method by using ICT tools.
- Design and establish a process of reporting on the progress of a project by using ICT tools.
Preferred learning outcomes
- Design a selection and evaluation process for jobs and projects in a portfolio.
- Identify and determine project risks and opportunities by using at least three methods.
- Assess a qualitative risk and opportunities analysis, and recommend a complex project response plan.
- Assess and apply the results of a complex project risk qualitative analysis.
- Create project activities with the Monte Carlo method of using ICT tools.
- Establish a tracking and project and portfolio control methodology by using ICT tools.
