Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we live, work, and learn — and vocational education must evolve with it.

From tourism to healthcare, from education to logistics, AI is no longer limited to the tech sector. It’s becoming a core skill across a wide range of professions. Yet, many VET systems across Europe are not yet equipped to provide learners — or their teachers — with the skills needed to understand and use AI meaningfully.

That’s why we created something new.

As part of the AI4VET4AI project, we’re proud to launch a set of 10 practical, forward-looking curricula designed for both Initial (IVET) and Continuing (CVET) VET learners and teachers.

What’s included?

These new curricula are tailored to five key sectors where AI is already making a difference:

  • Tourism
  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • Retail & Logistics
  • Marketing & Customer Service

Each course is designed to be:

  • Practical and hands-on
  • Ethically responsible and aligned with EU regulations (including the AI Act)
  • Focused on real-world AI tools and use cases
  • Accessible to both learners and educators — no advanced technical background needed

We also put special focus on equipping VET teachers and trainers with the knowledge and tools they need to confidently bring AI into the classroom.

Why this matters

Our transnational research, which involved over 2,300 participants across 11 countries, highlighted a critical gap:

Most current VET programs are not AI-ready, and many educators feel underprepared to teach AI-related topics.

At the same time, demand for AI-related skills is growing — even in sectors not traditionally seen as tech-driven.

These curricula aim to close that gap by offering clear, applicable, and ethically grounded pathways for integrating AI into vocational education across Europe.
