Global Game Jam is the world’s biggest video game development event, held worldwide with tens of thousands of participants, in hundreds of physical and virtual locations around the world.
Global Game Jam is similar to a “hackathon” where people come together to create games within a certain timeframe, in this case in 48 hours, around the central theme, revealed at the start of the “jam”. All Global Game Jams in the same year share a common theme around which the games are created, which is presented to everyone in direct contact with the organizers at the start of the competition.
Whether you’ve been working in the industry for a long time or you’re just hoping to start, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or an absolute beginner – Global Game Jam is a competition for everyone!
In Croatia, Global Game Jam competitions have so far been held in Rijeka and Novska, while the Global Game Jam Algebra 2023 will be the first such competition held in Zagreb!
And speaking of “first”, let’s talk about the prizes!
1st place – free tuition for the 1st year of the Professional Bachelor Program in Applied Computer Engineering or 1st year of the Professional Master Program in Applied Computer Engineering
2nd place – 50 % off the tuition for the 1st year of the Professional Bachelor Program in Applied Computer Engineering or 1st year of the Professional Master Program in Applied Computer Engineering
3rd place – 30 % off the tuition for the 1st year of the Professional Bachelor Program in Applied Computer Engineering or 1st year of the Professional Master Program in Applied Computer Engineering
All competitors can count on meals and refreshments throughout all three competition days!
Algebra will provide technical support in terms of electricity supply and high-quality Internet – competitors need to take care of all other equipment they may need. All technical equipment and personal belongings will be safe and under supervision during the competition.
Participation is free of charge. Teams and individuals over the age of 16 may apply till 30th January! (younger high school students may apply if accompanied by an adult or an adult team member)
